I'm not up to volunteering to keep a formula FAQ but I can provide some
information on Alimentum and Nutramigen, which are the 2 most common
"hypoallergenic" formulas. Both of those contain hydrolyzed casein, which
I understand to mean it is broken down into short *usually* non-allergenic
pieces. My son's doctor said a small percentage (I believe he said 5%) of
milk-allergic children also react to those formulas, and there are even
more heavily processed formulas available for them, but they taste and
smell even worse. I can provide further information on the formats in
which these 2 formulas are sold, and the manufacturers with 800 numbers.
Pricing informations seems doomed to be too regional and quickly outdated.

Great list!!
