I'm responding to Emily's post about Canadian taxes to the list because
it's the second time I've seen the question. I checked my Canadian
accounting publications at work and could find nothing on the list of
acceptable medical expenses regarding special dietary restrictions. I also
talked to the partner in charge of Canadian Taxes, and he had never heard
of any provision for special diets. I think you will have to contact
Revenue Canada directly to ask them. If you need their address, please let
me know as I have all the regional addresses at my office.
Also, I just learned that a product that I thought was gluten free isn't.
I had been drinking White Wave's "Silk", a really delicious soy milk, and
just found out that the vanilla flavoring is made with distilled grain
alcohol. If any one knows of a gf soy milk in the vanilla flavor or carob
(I'm allergic to chocolate), I'd appreciate a private post. Thanks. Also,
do all rice milks contain gluten?
