I keep reading that usually some sort of trigger event is needed to cause
celiac disease. As I understand it, a very typical pattern for CD is that
someone will have syptoms in childhood, the symptoms will seem to go away
during adolescence, and then gradually return in adulthood, developing
into full-blown classic CD if it's not recognized and treated. So is the
trigger event something before the initial appearance in childhood, before
the gradual return of symptoms in adulthood, or before the appearance of
digestive symptoms in adulthood?
Thanks,
