Yesterday I posted a request for a recipe for GF ranch salad dressing.
I got quite a few responses saying to use bottled Hidden Valley Ranch,
which is GF according to the company that makes it, but not the dry mix
packages.
I got one creative response saying to go to McDonalds and buy a bunch of
their packets (I think they're $.50 each).
And I got one reply recommending using cream, pepper, and sour cream to
make my own. This is the kind of thing I was really looking for, as I am
also trying to avoid sugar and carbohydrates in general (check out a book
called "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty if you're interested). I was just
looking for basic recipes I could finagle around with. I had no idea what
to make it from; on most commercial brands the first ingredient is soybean
oil, and I do not eat processed vegetable oils either. (Do a web search on
"Mary Enig" and "transfat" for an eye-opener.)
Thanks to everyone who replied!
