Hello All-
I must thank all of you who responded to my question. Again, I am a 24
year old diagnosed 3 months ago with CD and am still very FATIGUED. I
received so many wonderful responses and will attempt to summarize all that I
learned:
*almost EVERYONE reassured me that feeling fatigued is normal with CD
and that it is my body's way of healing itself
*most people wrote that it takes at least 6 months for energy to return
to approximately normal levels
*while I have been too exhausted to exercise, almost unanimously I was
told to get some form of aerobic exercise, at least 4-5 times per week....I
was so inspired that I have been walking at least 30 minutes a day this week,
as well as lifting weights and I DO feel more energetic and have been taking
fewer naps. So, all of you who are fatigued...EXERCISE....I think that may
be the key...
*others said to watch for other allergies, such as dairy, yeast, soy,
citrus fruits...
*most wrote to take some sort of vitamin supplement...among those
suggested were B12, calcium, folic acid, biotin, essential fatty
acids...also, to ask my doctor about taking B12 shots, since they can't do
any harm...
*some wrote that blood tests are not always accurate and I may have a
deficiency even if a blood test doesn't show it...

In general, give yourself a break, get rest and exercise (yoga is great,
too), and most importantly, BE COMPLETELY GF! I hope this will be as much
help to others as my responses were to me. Thank you so much, all who
responded, for making me feel that I CAN conquer this thing! Please feel
free to write me back at STEPHMATT@AOL.COM...

Sincerely,
