RE: I f anyone else experienced estrogen as a trigger for CD.
Received 8 replies, highly individual
5 (besides myself) reported sudden severe illness:
1 due to undiagnosed CD; estrogen helped in healing together with
progesterone in a topical cream (progest cream). Cannot tolerate soy:
most estrogen and progesterone have soybean. "... there is no
progesterone supplement that doesn't contain soybean."
2 due to taking estrogen. 1 Dx "Latent Luteal Dysphoris Disorder"= too
much estrogen: "arthritis and other problems to together with Estrogen."
1 67 yo had such a severe reaction to Estrogen"suspected brain
embolism".
1 developed endometriosis aggravated by Estrogen within a month of
CD dx.
OTHERS:
1 reports not uncommon for CD diagnosis at menopause. Took E
for 1 1/2 yr; quit for awhile, severe anemia led to CD dx and
osteoporosis; now on Prempro since a year. Improved bone scan
1 taking Premarin (.625 mg/day for 17 years), GF for 3 yrs, no problem
1 recommends What your MD May not Tell you about Menopause, by Dr. John
Lee. Uses Serenity cream ($30 jar lasts 3 to 4 mo). Also Estrace cream
(vaginal); could not tolerate pill or patch
1 low bone density (high risk due to lactose intolerance and surgical
menopause) refused E due to family cancer history
I'll keep the messages for a while; if anyone wants to be in touch with
one of the repliers, just let me know. Thanks for your help.
