Will someone please help? I have an endoscopy scheduled for
tomorrow morning and it just occured to me that the G.I. specialist always
wants to spray some stuff down my throat that he claimsnumbs it to make the
procedure more comfortable. I am wondering if anyone else has had this
sprayed down their throat and if you have suffered any side effects? As I
recall, my voice was quite husky aferwards and then my throat was knd of
sore. I was thinking it was the procedure that made me feel like that, but
with all the chemicals I have become extremely sensitvie to and react to, I
thought perhaps there is something in the orange flavored stuff that we
celiacs may react to. Any comments please? I wish I knew what it is called
but I do not. It is some type of "local" treatment that acts like
novacaine. I might add it does not do the job either, and seems like some
hocus pocus thing he does to make me think it will be more tolerable. It
does not do the job and I tell them when I make the appointment that I have
had the natural experience and insist on some sort of medication that will
make me more comfortable with out turning me in to a total vegetable,
because the doctor wants his patients to be coherent when he is doing
the procedure. Thanks for anyquick responses and suggestions from your past
experiences. I love this group. thanks again!
