I freeze freshly baked bread in plastic "zipper" bags, 2 pieces
on top of each other, 4-5 sets to a bag. When I want a sandwich, it is easy
to remove 2 pieces and microwave them. They then taste like freshly baked
bread.
When I first bake a loaf of bread, I can also keep it on my counter
for 4-6 days, wrapped in a paper towel (CHANGED DAILY to remove excess
moisture), placed in a canvas bread bag that is lined with vinyl and has a
fold down velcro closing. I bought this from King Arthur's bakers catalogue
for $13.25 plus shipping. It is one of my favorite investments. They still
carry it. Lynn in Omaha
