Howdy!

Recently, after a post about Bob's having contamination issues, I wrote
to them expressing my concern about using the same mill for both gluten
full and gluten-free flours. I said to them that I didn't believe that
they could label their rice flours as acceptable for those on a gluten
free diet since there is the possibility of cross-contamination. I told
them that personally, it was difficult for me to even discover if there
was accidental cross contamination since having DH, I don't realize the
effects of eating gluten until quite a while after the fact. (I read
somewhere that it can take 2 weeks for new blisters to appear after an
accidental ingestion, which makes it near impossible to trace back where
the accident happened.) I also said that I relyed on their flours since
it is readily available where I live and that I was saddened to find out
that I may have to start using a different flour company who can truly
verify that their flour is gf. Well, to make a long story less long (I
won't say short it is too late for that), I am invited to call Bob's Red
Mill to discuss my concerns. Maybe this means different practices?
(probably not, but I am feeling optimistic today!) =) I'll let y'all
know what they say!
Thanks for the alert on it!
