Hi there,
I am 37 yrs. old and I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when I was
three yrs old. I just joined this list and have been reading the letters
that come up everyday. I recently had ingested barley in a bean soup
that I was unaware of. I have never had that much gluten in my system in
years and I expected to have severe difficulties from this. I spent the
next two days eating nothing but bananas to help make it a little
easier. I had very little reaction, small amount of pain but
insignificant, no diaharrea, but was ver gassy. Idid not expect this to
happen and I am wondering if this is because some much time has gone by?
Could there be a change in the disease? I'm confused about this and I
was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. Also am I to
understand that vanillia has gluten in it? If so then I have been
probably ingesting gluten without knowing about it over the years. I
don't see a specialist for my condition, so I think there must be some
changes in ingredients that I am unaware of. Is there a book or
something that is inexspensive that might be of some help.
thankyou for your time.
