Does anyone one on the list know how gluten intolerance might be related to
fibromyalgia? the Symptoms, as far as I can tell, are very similar.
And how does a wheat allergy compare to gluten intolerance?
I have not been diagnosed with any of these conditions, but have taken
myself off wheat because of a suspected allergy. I have symptoms of deep
pain and stiffness, stupidity, asthma, insomnia, depression, exhaustion,
dark circles under my eyes, difficult menstruation, headaches, gas-, well, i
could go on, but I'm sure most of you are chanting along with me at this
point.
I have been Wheat free, and largely gluten free, for 5 weeks now, and many
of my symptoms have improved, most notably my energy and happiness level.
I have made other changes at the same time--reduced work hours, more aerobic
exercise, and i have gone through a thorough herbal cleansing program.
Also taking nourish herbs for sleep, adrenal support, and to regulate my
periods.
I signed on this list to find out more about gluten intolerance so i could
better understand what i have to deal with. Having had terrible asthma for
my entire life, i have little faith in doctors when a chronic conditon is
involved. Especially if the best therapy is nutritional--so few MDs seem to
have any interst in anything besides drugs and more drugs.
I am the assistant manager at a small health food store and can offer
limited information on products, especially herbs, and have (somewhere, i
will have to dig it out...) a list published by one of my distributors which
gives all of their gluten free and wheat free products.
When i find it, I'll post it, but be patient with me, it's a long list!!
I offer what information i have in all humility, having already learned a
great deal about Rice Dream that i never suspected. (and i passed the info
on to a customer today, who is struggling with a wheat allergy. Or is that
Gluten intolerance?!?)
Sincerely,
Kathryn Whipple
