It isn't a question of a mild case. Your daughter may be able to tolerate
small amounts to gluten. If, as I suspect, you have been very careful with
your daughter's diet, your mistakes have been little ones, allowing a small
amount of gluten into a dish. She may be able to tolerate that. That is a good
thing.
Other members of the list are not so fortunate. Any gluten in their diet
causes tremendous distress. In one sense though, everyone on the list is
fortunate. I am not aware of CD causing anaphalactic shock and death, as a
peanut allergy can.
It's all a matter of degree.
