I'm glad you brought up the subject of ascorbic acid because I was
planning to ask about it myself. I HAVE tried large doses (3,000 mg in
one dose) recently when I had what felt like a sinus infection, and
while it did seem to help the sinuses a lot, it also seemed to "mess up"
my gut. Not diarrhea, but just a weird, irritable feeling. Does anyone
know if it could cause irritation in a sensitive colon or if that was
probably just a cleansing effect and would eventually go away? It has
so many benefits, I hate not to take it.
Then again yesterday I took only 500 mg of citris bioflavanoids capsule
and last night got cramps and diarrhea. Same question -- sensitivity to
citris maybe, or just "cleaning house?" Anyone else have this
experience with ascorbic acid or other forms of vitamin C?
