Hi all,
From my inquiry about eating safely in resteraunts and while travelling I
got several suggestions:
1) take a card along with you that summarizes what you can't consume and
send it to the kitchen (although some people have had refusal of service
after producing their card, many have found it useful) and note other
cooking suggestions which must be followed to prevent contamination
2) ask that your food be grilled on tin foil to prevent contamination
3) take along sandwich makers and other plug in units that you can make
your own food with on trips
4) stay in kitchenettes and prepare your own food
5) take along soups that can be prepared by adding boiling water (good for
long plane trips)
Thanks for all of the suggestions, folks. I have another question: has
anyone found a way to relieve symptoms of accidentally ingesting gluten? I
have found that 2 TB of white wine will quell the nausea almost instantly
as long as MSG isn't the culprit. I'm not keen on wine and am wondering
if anyone has found any other solutions.
