A likely cause of blood in the stool are  polyps in the
colon. Nearly all are benign initially, but may require
regular removal. I had 3 at the time of celiac diagnosis,
a family history of it, the dangerous type and am now on
an annual colonoscopic cleaning list.
 
Untreated the cancer risk is higher than that of untreated
celiac. Risk very low with the annual exam.
