In response to Jane Oswaks post regarding flying First Class. "I can assure
you Jane, those of us in the coach section (the majority of passengers) are
not being served caviar, lobster, or grilled steaks. The point is that people
are specifically ordering Gluten Free meals in advance, and (most)
Airlines are getting all or some of it wrong. Someone even reported
eating a meal that looked to be OK, but made her sick with a gluten
reaction while flying. Perhaps people who get reactions to glutanoeus
foods served erroneously, and labeled gluten free, should simply
commandeer the first class bathroom for the rest of the flight.
We appreciate that the airlines are trying to offer GF faire, but if they are
not in fact gluten free, the Consumer relations department should be made
aware of the fact. I did so myself, in both written & verbal reports, as
recommended by a fellow Celic, so that they can fix the problem.
In all the responses I received regarding Airline food, the overwhelming
theme is "bring your own".
