Dear Larry,
Marmite is a vegetarian lower salt version of the Australian product
Vegemite (that black gooey stuff Aussies are reknown for spreading on
their toast)-also used to flavour soups and stews and gravy.
And NO, marmite IS NOT GLUTEN FREE, it has wheatgerm extract in it
-(unless someone would care to enlighten me that wheatgerm is OK? but I
don't think so). And vegemite isn't GF either, it has malt extract in
it.
