I learned from a local doctor, here in Ithaca, NY, that the MDs in the area
have a weekly gathering (breakfast, I think, and a speaker of some sort
(Investment counselors!!!) (I'm sure there are medical speakers, too.)
I have suggested to a friend who is a doctor that they try to line up Dr.
Kumar or some other really knowledgeable doctor in the field of
gastroenterology, one who would really know about celiac disease, to come
address the whole group some Friday morning. It will take about a year to
get it all lined up, but we are hopeful that it will happen.
Perhaps other cities have medical breakfast gatherings and some in-service
education can take place.
Just thought it might be a good idea here and there.
