Hi everyone!

I was diagnosed with cd about 18 months ago and solicit any
suggestions that can help me recover my degraded condition.

Let me start by saying that before I noticed anything wrong with me,
I weighed about 155 pounds. About March of 1994 I started working a
stint on the midnight shift and coincidently started losing weight.
This is not unusual, as diet and sleep patterns radically change.
Unfortunately, I continued losing weight. After consulting with my
doctor, I followed her recommendation and started eating more. This
seemed to stabilize my weight for a few months. Then the diarrhea
started. After two visits to my doctor, it was off to the gastro
specialist and the poking and probing which ultimately led to the cd
diagnosis. I have been trying to maintain the gf diet for the past
18 months and was initially successful in regaining a little weight,
but have recently had a couple of setbacks. I am now down to about
110 pounds and suffer from what I consider to be pretty sever muscle
wasting, particularly in my legs and buttocks.

I would appreciate any advice concerning regaining muscular capacity
as well as regaining my weight. I don't expect a miracle, but would
like to feel less frustrated with my physical degradation and get
headed on the path to recovery.

P.S. - I have learned so much from the list, especially in regard to
hidden sources of gluten. Thanks so much to all of you!
