I was diagnosed with DH about 6 years ago through a biopsy, and have
tried treating it with a GF diet twice. The first time around, the rash
went away completely after two months... but I went overseas for
work for a couple years and broke the diet completely. More recently, I
was GF for a year and was able to significantly reduce my Dapsone
dosage, although not eliminate it completely. I gave up the diet a few
weeks ago in frustration.
The rash on my face and shoulders, although relatively mild, is
continuous, and it's impossible for me to tell what "triggered" it. I
wonder if the on-again and off-again routine may hinder the diet's
effectivness? Also, while I know that drugs can't heal the small
intestine, has anyone heard about the effects of Dapsone and/or
Sulfapyridine on pregnancy and/or breastfeeding?
