I'm repeating something I mentioned on the list once before, but with some
additional info which I hope will be helpful:
 
I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease three years (gf nearly one
year).  After three months of a strict gf diet, I became very ill. I had
peripheral neuropathy, I felt faint, I developed micrographia (handwriting
gets smaller and smaller) and it was my perception that my heart was racing
and skipping beats - which it wasn't.  I went to Emergency and they found
that I had a very, very low B12 count.  I took weekly injections for 6
weeks (it took 3 weeks before I actually began to feel better) and my
doctor tells me I will be on monthy shots for the foreseeable future.
 
A couple of years prior to being diagnosed I had an episode that ended in
temporary paralysis to the waist? It started with numbness and tingling in
both feet and moved, over a period of days, to the waist.  The doctors did
a spinal tap, evoke potentials and other tests - they tested for everything
they could think of including (sorry about the spelling) Gillan Barre
Syndrome.  Eventually they diagnosed MS.  I didn't believe them and
insisted on an MRI which came back clear.  To this day they have no idea
what happened to me.  Lately, my physician has been wondering aloud if I
had pernicious anemia (low B-12) as the latest attack (described above)
was caused by low B-12.  However, I can't imagine how that could have been
missed...
