We have a good system in New Zealand...

A) All foods MUST be correctly labelled with ALL ingredients or prosecution
will ensue.

B) If requested, all companies must be able to provide the dietary
information of foods and products...(which means that Kentucky Fried
Chicken may not have to give out the secret 11 herbs and spices, but they
have to say whether they are suitable for a particular diet i.e. wheat
free). This also means that if shopping at a supermarket, and for instance,
I wish to know if the bulk bin corn chips are gluten free, they must be
able to tell me or stop selling the product immediately.

It took years to get the government to legislate, but its worth the wait :)

Pete...

If you thought the logic of a signature file was to discuss the ramifications
of tribal society on the modern views of the avante-garde underculture ebbing
and flowing its way through modern civilisation... Then I have the names of
several reputable psychiatrists who want to be your friend
Boing! Just call me Skuzzo... but don't call me Parsnip...
