I have a daughter (27 years old with 18-month old first child) recently
diagnosed with Idiopathic Thrombocytopedic Purpura (ITP) also called "immune"
also called "autoimmune" TP. This is a condition of decreased blood
platelets, by non-creation or by destruction by the autoimmune system. In an
attempt to avoid a splenectomy, I am looking to find a bottom line food
allergy reason for this condition, mybe wheat and gluten. Her doctor asked
her about her "quinine" intake, possibly from some special bottled tonic
water that she drinks a lot of that may contain quinine.
Do any of you have any experience with this condition, (ITP) or know of other
news groups dealing with this condition?
Being a genealogist of sorts (35 years LDS) I am also very deep into
researching and preparing a medical genealogy of my family. We show asthma,
hay fever, excema, diabetes, Raynaud's syndrome, Marfan's syndrome over the
years, and a sister recently diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Thanks for any replies on any of the above, especially ITP and Parkinson's.
