Aloha Sus
When I first tried a GF diet after DH diagnosis, I gave up in disgust after
1 month and no improvement. I then went to the library and did
some research and found that it takes at least 3 months. After being back
on the diet for exactly 3 months the symptoms disappeared. Months later I
naively decided to see if I was "cured" and resumed a normal diet. In about
3 months the symptoms returned. Apparently these time frames can vary from
person to person and of course will depend on the fastideousness of the
diet. Currently I am "nearly" GF and hence occasionally (100 mg per
fortnight) have to resort to Dapsone to clear skin eruptions. I must say
though that even this low dose effectively clears symptoms. Hope this helps!
Cheers
