1. We now have 800 subscribers to the CELIAC list, representing 20
   different countries.

2. The listowners would like to thank Joe Warren
<[log in to unmask]> for his work in preparing the editted
digest. Every morning he takes the previous days' postings and edits
out the recipes, thank yous, mistaken postings, etc.; so that busy
professionals (and anyone else who wants to) can receive a single
mailing from the list of a manageable size.

3. We recently announced the formation of a new list for celiac children
andheir parents: CEL-KIDS. To join send an email message to
[log in to unmask] The message should contain this line:

      SUBSCRIBE CEL-KIDS <Parent's-first-name> <last-name>

CEL-KIDS is a MODERATED list, which means someone has to read each
message and approve it before it gets posted. The listowners would
like to thank Kathryn Jones <[log in to unmask]> for
   agreeing to perform this service.

4. We ask you to keep these two things in mind when you post a message
   to the list:

   a) Use a descriptive, meaningful Subject: for your message. This is
a big help in the future when people go back throught the archives
      looking for a specific topic.

   b) When replying to someone else's post, don't include the entire
previous post in your message. Just selectively include the
relevent lines from the original message, and the identity of the
previous poster (if you wish). If your mailer software doesn't
allow you to do this, then it is best to turn off your mailer's
option for including the orginal message (if possible), or to send
your replies as new messages so that the entire previous posting
      is not included .

5. The listowners have substantially increased the amount of information
about gluten intolerance in autism in the CEL-AUT PACKAGE, including:

   a) An update of the last three months' posts on the CELIAC list about
autism, added to the AUTISM95 file.

   b) An edited summary of all posts about gluten intolerance from the
AUTISM list at St.Johns, which can be found in AUTCEL94 and
      AUTCEL95.

   c) A letter from Dr. Stephen Edelson, an autism researcher, generally
about gluten intolerance in autism, and a summary of the internet
resources available on this topic. This is in ARI.

   d) Lisa Lewis' summary of the topic, which was previously posted as
one long email within CELIAC AUTISM94, has been moved to its own
file, updated and expanded, as AUTINTRO.

   e) A list of citations to medical journal articles on the topic of
gluten intolerance in autism, which can be found in AUTCITAT.

You can request any of these files by sending an email message to
[log in to unmask] with the body GET CELIAC <filename>
(for example GET CELIAC ARI) or to get them all, the command is GET
CEL-AUT PACKAGE. Do NOT send these commands to the CELIAC list
   address.

6. The EXPERT PACKAGE contains the previous postings of the experts who
contribute to this list. EXPERT94 contains the postings from last
year. EXPERT95 contains the postings this year, through April.
EXPERTU contains postings for May and June. In the near future,
the contents of EXPERTU will be added to EXPERT95, and then the
postings for July, Aug., and Sept. will be put in EXPERTU.

The command to get all of these files is GET EXPERT PACKAGE. The
command to get any one of these files is GET CELIAC <filename> (for
example GET CELIAC EXPERT95). To automatically get EXPERTU, each
time it gets updated, the command is AFD ADD CELIAC EXPERTU. All of
these commands should be sent in an email message to the adress
[log in to unmask] and NOT to the CELIAC list address.
