Here's my handy Merck Index to the rescue again. d-alpha tocopheryl
acetate is a salt of Vitamin E. It is used in that form because it is
less affected by the oxidizing influence of air, light and uv light than
plain Vitamin E.

Vitamin E or the salt of it does not contain gluten. However, if it came
in a capsule form (gel-cap) you'll probably need to talk to the drug
company to see what is is the gelatin-like covering.
