Being one of those who waited for diagnosis before going on the diet, I have
to say for myself that it was a lot easier to accept when I was told by a
doctor.  I was lucky that I was only sick for about 3 years prior to
diagnosis.  In addition, while undergoing the tests, one of the so called
specialist :) told me not to change my lifestyle.
