Is there an economical way to test the contents of a suspect product,
to determine its exact composition? I recently purchased some Solait
Rice Syrup powder, which the company claims is wheat and gluten-free.
I had a bad reaction to it, and I would like to know all of the
ingredients in it. I'm not convinced that it was wheat that I reacted
to. The only ingredients are organice brown rice syrup and "natural
flavorings".
Is there an analytical lab around that can determine the ingredients
of a food product economically? I would even be willing to send this
abroad, as I cannot imagine that the international shipping cost
for a small sample of the rice syrup powder would be that expensive.
Maybe there are labs in other countries that can do this sort of
analysis much cheaper than what the cost in the U.S. would be?
