Dear Peggy,

Buddhist "mindful meditation" is also known as "vipassana," a Pali
form of the Sanskrit word "vipashyana," meaning insight, clear-
sightedness, intuitive cognition of the truths of existence.

There is a on-line forum called Vipassana which might be of
interest to you.  It deals with both discussion and practice.
