Robert: I'm guessing you mean NVDA, the screen reader.
To change your speech rate you can do this:
Open the NVDA menu by pressing insert N
 You will find preferences as the firt item, hit enter.
That will open a list which begins with settings; hit enter again. You
will hear "settings"  Arrow down once to speech and then tab across
'til you hear rate and adjust that by moving up or down through the
list. You may also want to check the next "rate boost" checkbox.  Hope
