John,
The Speedtest app on iOS is absolutely wonderful and provides just the right information as the test is being conducted. Of course, unless your phone or iPad is connected to your router via an ethernet cable you won't get the fastest result but it may help.

Subject: [VICUG-L] accessible speed test?

Hello All.

Once upon a time I discovered the great facility in using

https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fspeedtest.net%2F&data=05%7C01%7C%7C3c711cce984f4c7418e708da6b411418%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637940224506058847%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=yWhfpuPFTZfkfs9NbBOGikCuKxWvZoqsfInKJ8sX6yg%3D&reserved=0

I found that all I had to do was invoke that link. find the Start Test button on that page, and then go to the top of the screen to read the results, opptionally copying them to a text file for statistical reference.

But, life being what it is, the good folks at speedtest.net have "improved" things so that now that information is not as easily accessible as it once was.

Yes, I downloaded and installed their app. I can see enough to know that it looks nice, but that's about it. I have not found any way of obtaining any spoken information from the app.

Perhaps there's something I ought to know which could correct this situation.

Otherwise, I'm writing to ask how else I might assess my network speed
on a PC running Windows 11 with recent versions of Jaws and/or NVDA.

Help appreciated.

John
