I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 using NVDA.  I can't speak
for the most recent version(s) of NVDA but it worked just fine at the
launch of Windows 10.  Hope this helps:
(When I started using NVDA, I used it for about 2 years using 7 Pro
before Windows 10.)
