I use Alexa for things like listening to SiriusXM, listening to Amazon Prime Music, setting timers, checking the time, checking the weather, adding things to my shopping cart, looking up recipes, getting answers to questions and I can't think of anything else.

Although I do use it to add items to my shopping cart, these are things I would have purchased anyway through the web site or the app. In other words, I'm not spending any additional money just because I have an Echo.

Note I couldn't read the original article, since it looks like I needed to be an Insider. I'm basing my above answer on what I could read and a conversation I had with my son over the weekend on how Amazon is losing money on the Echo infrastructure.

I too have a lot of uses for our Echo Dots; but not as many as Bill has mentioned.
One that I particularly value is being able to link a Sirius-xm account to it; another is with Amazon's Music unlimited.
Looking at the article Bill posted, $10 bil in projected losses for $ 2022 for the devices division, make me wonder how long the Echo devices may be around or if Amazon would be delighted to drop them off on some other company.
And, without Amazon or someone else supporting the network, the Echo would become an expensive paperweight.

As for Steve's question, Show and Tell gets mixed reviews on a couple of
Echo lists I'm on.

I own a bunch of Dots and never considered anything from the Show Series.
