Harry,
There are blind musicians.
Two come to mind, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles.
He will have to practise, but he can do it.

Hi all,
For those of you who have connections to blind musicians who use drum kits, please pass this email to them.
I want to help Rob, he's been in a great band since 1999 but his sight loss has gotten much worse.
They can send me an email, or, just send Rob an email, his email address is part of the forward.
There has got to be a way for a blind person to use a drum kit.
I'm not an expert at that.
Thanks for any help anyone can give Rob!
Harry

Hi Harry,
my vision is so much worse. My left eye is basically a light detector and the right eye has minimal vision but not good for much. I now have to hang onto my wife (seeing eye blond), or friend whenever we go out. Not liking this at all.
In fact, my Christian progressive rock band played a gig for the first time in 5 years. Although the gig went well, I was so frustrated trying to see my rather large drum kit while playing. I missed quite a few cymbals and hit lots of rims instead of drums. Told the guys I'm going to have to quit. I've been in that band since 1999. I'm pretty depressed about not being able to do that anymore.
Rob
