The answer to this question is a bit complicated. The first thing I'd encourage them to do is to look at the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative. www.w3c.org will give you a good start. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 are a good starting point. There are tons of resources there that will get them started. But, I'd encourage them to also sign up to the www.webaim.org 's mailing list where many professionals provide free advice. If, however, we're dealing with a platform, then a strategic method is more appropriate. Have them contact me. We provide more systematic consultative services. We can evaluate their needs and work with them closely to make their platform accessible. Our method encourages them to develop their internal capacity to create accessibility from the start and remediate what needs to be remediated. My full contact information is below my signature.
