Hi Harry,

I have the same microwave I think. The only problem with devices where Alexa is enabled is that if you lose your internet connection, you won't be able to use the devices unless you have labeled the touch screen. Alexa needs an internet connection to translate what you speak into commands for the microwave. I found that out the hard way when Comcast went out for a few hours.

Dan

Subject: [VICUG-L] a tip about the Amazon Smart oven

Hi all,

Got the Amazon Smart oven today, and my computer guy, Rick, connected it.

So then, I told A lady microwave 15 seconds, and it didn't do anything.

So, he also got one of these Amazon Smart ovens, and the problem was, we already had the Amazon Basics microwave, but it wasn't deleted from the A lady app.

So, he deleted it, and all I have to say now is, Microwave, then say for how long, and it takes off, and does it!

The sweet thing is, a convection oven does things in half the time of a regular oven.

So, for example an hour and a half roast, will now be done in 45 minutes!!!

Harry
