Hello list

Using Outlook 2016 and Windows 10, I practiced saving emails in Outlook 2016
and I usually save as text files and in the cases of attachments I leave
them in their original format when saving, however, is there a way to save a
message in Word rather than in any of the other formats from Outlook 2016 in
Windows 10 or when does one save in .msg format? Yesterday I saved one text
message as an attachment in .msg and opened it, when I tried in Word 2016
using West European Windows it sounded like goggle dee gook and then
eventually I couldn't open it and it said Outlook could not be started and
then that I needed permission, never had this before though quickly fixed
after ignoring error so I deleted the message so I presume an email can be
saved as an attachment also as text and then opened in Word etc and not sure
if all recipients to whom it would be sent can open .msg, any advice, for
example one provider says abuse complaints should be sent as attachments?
