This is a Toshiba laptop that I have used since 2013. I am familiar
with machines wich have function keys that perform multimedia
functions; I have another HP machine for work.  Since Windows 10
began, I have had a couple of instances where a Windows update has
either changed settings or turned things off (usually toggle buttons).
I have not ever had an update disable my function keys (they appear to
do nothing right now) nor have I had an update that, for some reason,
keeps toggling my wireless setting to off.  I have now had some time
to use the machine and there is one other thing that has happened
since the update(s). NVDA sometimes reads things, (e.g desktop items)
that are not currently in the focused window. Best example? While
typing this Email in my Gmail internet window, NVDA randomly read
"Microsoft Word 3 of 15". It also reads other open window titles or
tabs.  I am mystified.
