Of course backing up is a good idea, but if you don't want to lose what 
you're editing when your system crashes or hangs then you don't need to 
back up, you just need to save what you're working on frequently. For 
example, with Microsoft Word this just means hitting control+s 
frequently or setting it up to save whatever you're working on every few 
minutes. I'd assume you could do the same thing with your audit editing 
software.
