Hi listers,

Please see below if you are interested in taking part in a survey
about how blind and visually impaired people access data. This group
at Carnegie Mellon University is working with a company on trying to
build accessible financial data tables and graphs. Thanks.

Hi Catherine,

Thank you again for talking to Conrad and I last week, it was very
helpful in our process to understand the assistive technology
landscape. We were hoping to take you up on your offer to circulate
our screener survey for recruiting research participants. At this
point we’re just hoping to observe visually impaired users in their
regular technology use.

Here is the description of the survey:

Data-Driven Decision-Making Survey

We are Carnegie Mellon University students working on an
industry-sponsored Masters capstone project exploring accessible
financial data. We're hoping to interview people about how they make
data-based decisions. Interviewees will be compensated with a
Starbucks or Amazon gift card. Please email
[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with any questions or
concerns. To see if you qualify, please fill out our short survey and
we’ll follow up with you promptly:

Please let me know if you need any more information before sending it
out. Thanks again!

Best,
Emily

Hi Emily,

Sure, I can meet with you and Conrad to talk about this. Though I may
be connecting you with some additional people and resources that might
be able to advise you better. Next Monday at 1:30 would work for me.
Could you come to our office, 5136 Margaret Morrison Street? We’re
across from the row of stationary food trucks. Thank you.

Subject: Interview with MHCI student team on accessible graphs

Hi Catherine,

I’m reaching out as part of a small team of CMU Master's students in
the Human-Computer Interaction program. We're currently working on a
capstone project which aims to make financial graphs accessible
through non-visual means. We were referred to you by one of our
classmates. We would love to connect with you in order to learn more
about the needs of visually impaired students on CMU's campus!

Would you have a few minutes to chat with us sometime this week or
next? My teammate Conrad and I are available Friday after 1:30pm or
next Monday at 1:30pm. If you're available, please let us know when
would be convenient for you! We'd be happy to meet you somewhere on
campus.

All best,
Emily
