Hi,

I just thought I’d drop in and share a couple of ways I’ve noticed about screen readers when reading The Bible. I’m thinking primarily of Voiceover as an example, which is easiest for me to remember since I use it most .

For one thing, there’s something called Manna. Alex on the version of mac I’m currently using, for example, doesn’t know what that is and doesn’t bother to ask. What is that? I wondered when i came across a devotional for today that had that unfamiliar word in the subject line. So what is it? Make a guess. The Children of Israel asked that question themselves. Did they decide to call it Mana, or manna? And then, of course, there’s Job. Did that guy have a job that he lost along with everything else?

then there’s something that interrupts our quiet time with The Lord if you’re still using earlier versions of IOS. Did you know that reading some verses of scripture are calendar events? Most disturbing of all is that sometimes it’s more precise, down to hours and minutes! Take a look at a lot of passages and you’ll see what I mean.

But I guess Voiceover has learned some lessons on interpretation, but you’ll need to keep it up to date if you want more peace of mind.
