I was diagnosed Celiac a few years ago when problems began, but have been a
bit plump most of my adult life. Since my sensitivity is very low, I never
went GF until about 2 months ago. Coincidentally, I started at the same
time not a diet, but an effort to change my ways to eat less and exercise
more. I have been losing weight at a slow but steady rate, and I feel the
GF has been a big help because I am less tired so I exercise more and am
generally more active, am less depressed with the same result, and the
food cravings for things both strange and plain have totally gone away. I
eat very little animal flesh, a lot of rice and potatoes and vegetables, a
little fat and dairy. After a lifetime of dieting, I have become convinced
that no matter what diet you're on, only three things control your weight:
intake, intake, intake.
