Concerning the TapIn problem:

First, I am presuming that TapIn remains a viable commercial product 
updated and supported by its developer.  If so, is it possible that some 
add-on -- Flash, SilverLite, whatever -- is required to listen to 
stations.
Also, can you listen to anything in Tapin (or otherwise) or just confined 
to this subset of Michigan stations?

I've not played with Tapin in years so cannot speak from current user 
experience.
