Like others here, I use various methods for opening programs in Windows,
depending on what I'm doing, how I'm feeling, and which direction the
planets are aligned in.

I still tend to use hotkeys for desktop programs I work with frequently,
like Word, Thunderbird, and Firefox, and of course, metro apps, like
KNFB Reader, can't be sent to the desktop, so I tend to open them by
using the start/search box.
