This sounds more like your IMAP or POP 3 settings then the email client you're using. Are you using IMAP or POP 3? Have you double checked your settings in Thunderbird and on Gmail?
Windows Mail is definitely usable. It's designed more like an app for a mobile device, so if you've used an email client on a smart phone then you'll know what to expect. I used it when I was having trouble with Outlook, but I found it a bit less efficient then Outlook, which I think goes back to the fact that it's designed more for a tablet user then a desktop user. Once I resolved my Outlook issues, I went back to using Outlook, but like I said, Windows Mail was definitely usable. I used it with JAWS, Narrator and NVA. I'm trying to remember, but it worked best with NVDA or Narrator, at least in my opinion.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Someone help me, my email is a mess!
Hi all,
Forget what I said, Thunderbird, is still doing the same thing, even with the new version.
My speech goes, with Jaws, and with NVDA.
And then, when I come back in the box, the emails I have deleted, are back, as if I have never deleted them.
It's my gmail.com account, the only one I use.
I thought about windows mail, is anyone using it!
I cannot get anything done, nothing done, and I'm getting way, way, behind!
Harry
