Hi All,
I've gotten some clarification on bookmarks in Chrome browser.
To create a bookmark, press ctrl+d, then enter. For whatever reason,
this wasn't working for me, but it is now. Maybe my computer just felt
like messing with my head.
To find your bookmarks, go into the Bookmarks menu by pressing alt+f,
then B. After that, repeatedly up/down-arrow. If you down-arrow through
the Bookmarks menu, the first few items are menu options, like Bookmark
This page. Eventually, you get to submenus, like Imported from IE. You
can right arrow once on a submenu to open it, then arrow through the
items in that sub folder. If you up-arrow through the Bookmarks menu,
you find your most recent bookmarks. Whichever way you go, open a
bookmark by pressing enter on it.
To manage your bookmarks, you have a couple of options. The easiest is
to go into the Bookmarks menu (alt+f, followed by b), arrow to your
bookmark, then press the applications key to find options like Edit and
Delete.
Another way to manage your bookmarks is to go into the Bookmarks
Manager, which is where you wind up when you press ctrl+shift+o. This
screen works well with ChromeVox, but it doesn't work very well with
Jaws, Narrator, or NVDA. If you tab through this screen, you find
options like Folder and Organize. If you arrow over it, you find a list
of folders. Arrow to the folder you want, and press enter to select it.
tab past Organize, to find the contents of the folder, which may be
subfolders or web pages. If it's subfolders, arrow to the one you want,
press enter, and tab past Organize again. If it's files, arrow to the
one you want, and press the applications key for options, like Edit and
Delete.
Of course, you can use the search box on the Manage Bookmarks screen to
find relevant bookmarks.
Hope this helps others too.
Ciao
