The Lighthouse is a mission-driven, private, not-for-profit
social enterprise providing employment, support, and training
opportunities for people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with

We are a successful manufacturing organization with over 60
years of experience in precision machining as well as being a
professional service provider and federal contractor. We produce
an array of machined parts and plastic injection molding for
various aerospace manufacturers, as well as a host of office
products and hydration equipment. The Lighthouse also offers a
variety of services to our commercial, federal, and military
customers. These include Contract Management Support (CMS)
services for government contracting offices and a Contact Center
which places and receives inbound and outbound calls. We also
own and operate stores on military bases along the West Coast.

Summary:
Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and
goals for the information technology department. Analyzes the
needs of different departments and determines ways to meet
business objectives by modifying existing or developing new
information processing systems. Requires a bachelor's degree (or
equivalent experience) in a related area with at least 8 years of
experience at a managerial level. Familiar with a variety of the
field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive
experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and
directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and
latitude is expected.
Essential Job Functions:
chr Represents I.T. as a customer service department within
the organization, delivering world-class service and results.
chr Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user
community and recommends technical solutions.
chr Ensures the consistency, maintainability, and security of
existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing
standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
chr Directs the execution of tasks according to a documented
schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
chr Uses standardized project management techniques and
implements effective project control by monitoring the progress
of projects and reporting their status.
chr Directs and prioritizes the work load of subordinate
personnel.
chr Uses continuous improvement methodologies to insure a
high-quality product and the reduction of errors and
inefficiencies.
chr Ensures accurate business requirements prior to the design
of technical solutions.
chr Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and
maintains vendor contracts.
chr Directs education programs for I.T. staff and fosters the
skill advancement of staff.
chr Performs liaison duties between users, operations, and
programming personnel in the areas of systems design,
modifications or trouble shooting.
chr Oversees an annual budget. Keeps operational costs in-line
with budget and leads capital expenditures to completion on-time
and on-budget.
chr Performs salary administration and conducts interviews and
makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or
replacement personnel.
chr Uses critical thinking and creative problem solving in all
areas of business management.

Minimum Requirements:
chr BS/BA in Business Management, computer science or related
information technology degree.
chr 8 years of experience at a managerial level.
chr Demonstrated effectiveness of employee career development
and conflict resolution.
chr Successful experience at leading and mentoring team leaders
and managers.
chr Project management certification or 5+ years leading
projects and project teams.
chr Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people who
have disabilities especially related to blindness. Familiarity
with accessible technology is preferred. Ability to learn about
assistive technology and support its integration into daily
operations is required.
Title and salary negotiable commensurate with knowledge and
experience
Though you may meet the requirements for work eligibility in
the United States, this position requires that you meet special
government/military compliance regulations (ITAR-International
Traffic in Arms Regulations). This means you must be able to
provide legal documentation as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent
resident alien, or other ITAR compliant status.
