I don't know why anyone would say you need FileDir. Obviously, if
Windows Explorer or File Explorer meet your needs then stick with it. If
you're asking why there's another file manager out there then I'd say
the reason is the same as why there are so many email clients, word
processors, web browsers and so on. They all work a bit differently,
have their own strengths and weaknesses, and you should just use
whatever you prefer. Choice is a good thing. If you'd like to know what
the pros are for FileDir and why someone might use it over File Explorer
then that's a different question.
