To turn off thread views in Thunderbird, do the following:


* Move focus to the folder you want; in other words, go into the Sent 
folder, but do not open a message.


* Go into the view menu (alt+v), then into the Sort submenu, then press 
enter on Unthreaded.


That's it. To ignore a thread/message is to not have it displayed. 
Uncheck the ignore options to change that. Pressing enter on them should 
do the trick.
