Hi Harry,
I have mixed feelings about phones like the Blind Shell. On the one hand you get a phone with a keyboard and applications which are already installed and ready to use. On the other hand you don't get an Android phone with all the features a sighted person would get. An Android phone purchased from a typical service provider probably would be cheaper. As long as you don't get expensive Pixel phones from Google.
If it were me I would get the mainstream device so I could continue learning Android. I use a Pixel phone for my job but don't own it. I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I'm just mentioning it in case you're interested in learning about mainstream Android devices. There may be phones out there with keyboards but I don't know which models. Let me know how things go if you do decide to get the Blind Shell.
